Profile

I was born and raised in Smithers, a small town in northern British Columbia where my passion for athletics and the outdoors blossomed. I grew up immersed in every sport available to me, including my first loves hockey, soccer and fishing. Growing up I spent my summers fishing and camping on the lakes and rivers near my home. Driven by my competitive nature, I left home for my grade 12 year and moved to Prince George to play Junior ‘A’ hockey. My competitive nature and strong work ethic could not be contained by sports and spilled over into all facets of my life especially my academics.  My thirst for knowledge delivered me to the University of Victoria, where I became enthralled with how the human body adapts to handle adverse environments such as heat, humidity and hypoxia. University also helped me find a new athletic passion, rowing with the University of Victoria’s Men’s Rowing team. Rowing has been a competitive outlet, allowing me to explore my mental and physical limits. Currently, as a student at the University of Victoria I am completing the fourth and final year of my Honours Degree in Kinesiology. I plan to use these experiences to direct my focus on physiotherapy. A career that I believe compliments my interest in continued learning, my ability to communicate effectively with others, and my passion for producing high quality work. I look forward to exploring each new step in my life.
