Minor Hockey Official

As an official I have been lucky enough to officiate high quality hockey. I have had the opportunity to ref Tier 2 Bantam (ages 13-14) and Midget (ages 15-17) hockey. As well, I was selected to officiate at a Bantam Tier 3 Provincials. Officiating requires an extremely unbiased, and professional approach in order to provide each team with equal footing. Being impartial is essential to controlling a game, and avoiding conflict with the players and coaches of each team. Officiating hockey forces you to be aware of the sometimes escalating emotions that surround you and helps develop personnel management skills

Lawn Care
Self Employed (2003 - Present)
Smithers, BC

Starting from the time I was 10 years old I ran a lawn care business. It started with mowing the lawn of only one neighbour once a week. From their it grew through referals beyond my neighbour to the point where I've mowed over 50 different lawns in my small hometown. The work started solely in lawn mowing, and expanded to trimming and gardening. At varying points, I was able to employ different friends of mine. My responsibility to my clients, in culmination with my sports and academics helped to develop my time management and customer service skills all while providing me with a flexible summer job.
